Abstract:NixCu1−xalloy powders were prepared by hard template method using Activated Carbon Fiber (ACF) as template. Phase structure of the crystalline compositions of the prepared NixCu1−xalloy powders were characterized based on their observed morphology and microstructure. It was found that NixCu1−xalloy powders are closely connected with each other and form a porous structure. The single particle had columnar shape with a cubic crystal structure. YSZ electrolyte-supported planar single cell was fabricated using LSM as cathode and NixCu1−x–YSZ as anode and tested using methane as fuel. The single cell with NixCu1−xalloy anode had better catalytic activity. Power density of the single cell increased with the increase in the molar ratio of Ni/Cu, and Ni0.8Cu0.2cell showed the highest value of 315 mW  ?cm ?at 1073 K. © 2016 Taylor and Francis Group, London.
