Abstract:In this paper, a 3D non-hydrostatic model for water wave motions has been parallelized for general purpose graphical processor units (GPGPU). The model solves incompressible NSE by the use of a pressure correction technique. To improve the model's efficiency, the Poisson equation for pressure correction term is solved on the GPU in conjunction with the preconditioned conjugate gradient method. The performance of the model is established by validating it against a few standard benchmark test cases. It is shown that the acceleration due to GPU parallelization increases with increase in the number of computational grids. Speedup ratio of approximately 7 is observed in the simulations.
