Xiaochun Niu is an associate professor and associate dean at School of Humanities and Law, Dalian University of Technology at Panjin. She had workded as a government officer at Wales Health Solutions based at Cardiff, UK from 2003 to 2006. During 2010 to 2014, she was appointed as the co-director of the Confucius Institute, Penn State University of the USA, responsible for China outreach programs, China-related research and workshops, designing and marketing Chinese language and culture courses, management of Chinese teachers and their teaching at outreached schools, organizing cultural events, coordinating collaborations between Dalian University of Technology and Penn State University and local schools etc.She worked as an interpretor for Dalian municipal government and conferences. Her courses taught cover American Culture, Intercultural Communication, Advanced English Writing, Business Negotiation, International Business Cultures etc. Her Research focuses on Applied Linguistics, Intercultural Communication and Study on Cultures. She published more than 10 essays at home and abroad and edited books.She won the third prize at National DigitalED Summit in 2001 for the New Horizon English and the first prize in software cometition for Online Business Course issued by the Ministry of Education in 2010.
