Abstract:The connection structure is widely used in aerospace,chemical equipment,nuclear power station and other large industrial equipments.Under the action of axial bending and transverse shearing,it works well to resist external force with the co-operation of the components of the bolts,flanges and shear pins. In this paper,a schematic nonlinear dynamic model with 3 DOFs was developed to study the dynamics mechanism of the bolted flange connections containing shear pins (cones).The corresponding nonlinear dynamic equations were built to describe the proposed model,with special attention on the dynamic characteristics of the model subj ected to transversal impact.The fully coupled vibration phenomenon in three directions was found in the nonlinear system with the assistance of mathematical analysis and numerical experiment,in which the decoupling conditions of system’s degrees of freedom were given in detail.The coupled frequency between the vertical vibration and transverse vibration were analyzed to give the most appropriate design region by means of building the relation curve between the dip angle of the shear pin and the maximal axial tensile force on the bolts.
