Abstract:It is still a big challenge to hydrothermally synthesize Sn-Beta zeolite by using lower amount of template and mineralizing agent in a relatively short crystallization time. To solve the problems an aerosol-seed-assisted method was used to synthesize Sn-beta zeolites. The optimum synthesis conditions were explored by varying the different synthesis parameters. It was found that the dense synthesis system help to lower the required amount of the template and hazardous mineralizing agent, and shorten the crystallization time. The crystallization of the Sn-Beta zeolite follows the liquid-phase mechanism. The incorporation of the tin species into the framework created strong Lewis acid sites, which was confirmed by UV-Vis, pyridine-FT-IR and CD3CN-FT-IR techniques. The good catalytic performances of the Sn-Beta zeolite catalysts were observed in the Baeyer-Villiger oxidation of cyclohexanone with H2O2.
