Abstract:The greenhouse effect caused by the increase of atmospheric CO2 concentration has become a global issue. CO2 molecule has strong stability, and the traditional pyrolysis method has certain limitations in transforming CO2. Application of plasma technology for recycling CO2 resource has exhibited good prospect. We briefly introduced the basic principle and advantages of CO2 conversion by plasma and discussed the role of the catalyst in the conversion process. Moreover, we summarized the recent (past five years)researches at home and abroad on dielectric barrier discharge (DBD), sliding arc discharge and microwave discharge plasma to convert CO2, as well as the studies of the combination of DBD, microwave discharge and different catalysts. Based on the current research status, the problems and challenges of plasma-converted CO2 technology were analyzed. It was proposed to use plasma technology to combine CO2 with co-hydrogen reactants to produce energy-efficient products, and to balance the CO2 conversion rate and energy efficiency in the future. The direction of development in the future was expected. ? 2020, High Voltage Engineering Editorial Department of CEPRI. All right reserved.
