I have been engaged in the preparation and characterization of nano-materials and the adsorption materials and techniques for gas-phase pollutants since 2009. I am now the Reviewer Member of the international journal of Applied Catalysis A: General, RSC Advances. So far, three research projects are being under my host, one from the Natural Science Foundation of China and the other from the National Key R&D Plan (See my Hosted Grants for detail). I have first-authored 7 SCI publications (See my Published Papers for detail), one of which was conferred the Excellent Poster by the committee of The 2nd International Symposium on Catalytic Science and Technology in Sustainable Energy and Environment. I am also a principal investigator for more than 10 research projects. Until now, I have co-supervised one undergraduate, who was awarded the “Excellent thesis of the China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing area)”.
My research interest mainly focuses on the indoor air pollution control, which includes the following two bullet points: (1) Adsorption and catalytic purification materials and technologies for VOCs like benzene, formaldehyde, etc., and for odor gases like ammonia, etc.; (2) Structurally controlled synthesis of ozone decomposition materials with high performance and long-term life.
After years of team work, we have (1) constructed noble metal and MnO2 composites for benzene and ammonia oxidation, (2) found a new deactivation mechanism involving the surface hydroxyl group of catalyst for ozone decomposition materials and a new reaction pathway involving acid sites and oxygen vacancies for gaseous ozone decomposition and (3) put forward rational designs of affordable and efficient MnO2 materials with high hydrophobicity for environmental application.
