摘要:Due to restrained shrinkage, concrete usually cracks and it leads to corrosion of steel subsequently. It adversely influences the function and duability of concrete structures. Using concrete mixed with expansive agent known as expansive concrete brings a solution to this problem. Hybrid FRP wrapping shrinakge compensating concrete (SHCC) structure has shown benefit of delaying cracking and eliminating the corrosion compared to steel-reinforcd concrete structures. In this research, FRP-restrained expansive concrete beams under symmetrical and unsymmetrical FRP layout were tested to explore the effect of reinforcement arrangement on mechanical performance of beams. Results indicate that the eccentric self-prestressing can improve the cracking resistantce as well as flexural capacity of beam specimens compared to symmetrical prestress. In the mean time, it is validated that SHCC specimen not only has a higher stiffness but also shows a prominent advantage on delaying cracking, ultimate capacity as well as cracking control compared to portland cement concrete (PCC) specimen.
