Personal Profile

The circadian rhythm is any biological process that displays an endogenous, entrainable oscillation of about 24 hours. These rhythms are driven by circadian clocks and have been widely observed in animals, plants, fungi, and some bacteria. Before I started research in Chronobiology, I investigated the role of PPARgamma, a key metabolic nuclear receptor, in blood pressure regulation. When I found this gene was involved in circadian rhythm, I was deeply captivated. The clock in organism is like sine curve in trigonometry, wave in physics and melody in music. What a beautiful picture the cycle of life is! My current aim is to investigate the role of circadian clock in aging and behavior, as well as multiple diseases including cardiovascular diseases and metabolic diseases. My long-term goal is to find a way to cure jet lag and shift work induced diseases or disorders. PUBLICATIONS:
