Prof. Dongping LIU born in 1971 received his master degree in 1998 and his doctorate degree in 2001, all from Dalian University of Technology, China. As a postdoctoral research fellow, he joined the Electrical Engineering Department, Deggendorf Technique Hochschole, Germany, in 2001. From November 2004 to May 2006, he worked at Colorado State University, USA as a postdoctoral research fellow. In 2006, he was appointed as Professor of Plasma Physics both at Xiamen University and at Dalian Nationalities University, China. Currently, he works in Dalian University of Technology, China as a full-time professor (Grade II). His current research interests include plasma diagnosis and simulation, non-equilibrium plasmas, plasma-surface (including liquid and solid surfaces) interactions, H isotope/He diffusion and retention in metal, plasma agriculture, and plasma bioscience and medicine. Prof. Liu has authored/co-authored 200 international journal papers and published 2 books. He has presented above 50 invited talks at domestic and international conferences, and he is in the scientific committee of seven plasma conferences. In 2006, He was conferred Deggendorfer Hochschuleprize, Germany. He is the reviewer of more than 30 international journals. He closely collaborates with several companies in China to develop the plasma medicine and plasma agriculture. He has 20 China invention patents, and many of them have been transferred to companies from China.
