Abstract:On basis of analyzing the dominating hardness for undergraduate students to master information theory ,a numerical experiment-based method is put forward to teach the information theory .Its essence is to model the typical channels ,signal sources and networks ,etc .,by means of computer software and to present the subject’s remarkable principles via numerical computations .The characteristics and advantages of this method are analyzed and revealed via systematic descriptions on the cases of studying the asymptotic typical set properties and Shannon Theorem .
