摘要:Droplet impact on heated surfaces is widely used in various industrial processes such as internal combustion engines, fire suppression and cooling systems. Droplets performs diversely on surfaces at different temperature. Leidenfrost state, which inhibits heat transfer between solid and liquid for the arousing laminar airflow, is a key factor to impede high-temperature cooling. On the other hand, the airflow-endowed self-lubricating property in the Leidenfrost state possesses broad application prospect in droplet self-migration, which is becoming a hot research topic. The boiling modes of droplets on heated surfaces and the main effecting factors of Leidenfrost points on solid surfaces are introduced, as well as the latest research of droplet self-migration at high temperature. Furthermore, inadequacy of current studies of droplet impact on heated surfaces is discussed and its future research prospects are proposed. © 2018 Journal of Mechanical Engineering.
