There is not only the same significance, but also a great similarity between the deepening study of the micro- and macro-cosmos. When we go to the seas of stars, we must not ignore the principals guiding the molecules, electrons and photons. These micro basics constitute the fundamental building blocks of ensemble characteristics. To address the issues of micro-scale observing, it is a necessity and challenge to design the fluorophore scaffold and the optical microscope to enable the analysis of molecular events, including interactions and distributions. This multidisciplinary research works on the fields of chemistry, optics, computer science and mathematics. It is hoping to super-resolving the fluorescence information to push the boundaries of living cellular studies and diagnostic approaches.

Dr. Ye Zhiwei obtained his bachelor degree at Dalian University of Technology from 2007-2011. Then, he obtained admission qualification and followed Prof. Xiao Yi to pursue a doctoral degree. After several years of hard training on the multidisciplinary fields, he obtained doctoral degree at applied chemistry on 2020. He is now an associate professor at Dalian University of Technology. His research interest covers the fluorescent dyes for super-resolution imaging. He has published several important papers on JACS, Angew. Chem., Int. Ed., Anal. Chem. etc., and served as a reviewer for Nature Communications.

We are a team composing of multidisciplinary background. We warmly welcome applicants from worldwide with interests in fluorescent probes, microscopy and image processing. Research Focus

  • Fluorescent dyes for super-resolution imaging

    To address the issue of single-molecule fluorescent properties, it should be started from the begging, i.e., molecular design. It is the fundamental way to super-resolution imaging.

  • Algorithm development for super-resolving.

    Where is the informative boundary of fluorescence? What has lost and what could be drained from the dye fluorescence?

  • Molecular diagnostics on the basis of super-resolution imaging

    Do the molecular distributions, interactions and dynamics revealed by super-resolving techniques constitute the fundamental events of disease beginning, developing and disappearing? Is it possible to diagnose disease from the very beginning and eliminate any disorders of the human body?
