Jiannan Zhao received his B.S. in Chemistry from Sichuan University in 2010. Then he stayed there and pursued his PhD in Chemistry with Prof. Xiaoming Feng. His thesis work involved asymmetric Mannich reaction of silyl ketene imines catalyzed by N,N’-dioxide-metal complexes. Upon graduation in 2015, Jiannan joined the laboratory of Prof. Ohyun Kwon at the University of California, Los Angeles as a postdoctoral fellow. There, he completed an intramolecular crossed [2+2] cycloadditions of dienones. Jiannan joined the faculty in Zhang Dayu School of Chemistry at Dalian University of Technology in 2018. His research mainly focused on the development of novel radical-mediated reactions and asymmetric synthesis.
