Abstract:Task air conditioning (TAC) system has many advantages over traditional air conditioning system, but the human thermal sensation in TAC environment is not very clear. The paper analyzes how the human thermal comfort is affected by different air supply volumes and temperatures under a certain background air temperature through large amount of human thermal comfort experiments. In particular human thermal comfort and its impact on the whole body thermal comfort under hot environment are analyzed. Experiments show that when the local supply air is mainly directed at the human chest, thermal sensations on the head, upper and lower body are different from each other, but all have strong relationships with the whole body thermal sensation, of which the whole body thermal sensation is influenced by the upper body thermal sensation the most, then by the head and by the lower body the least. The part of human body at which the local supply air mainly directed is the main part that affects the whole body thermal sensation. In addition, thermal sensations of both the front and back body have conspicuous correlation with the whole body thermal sensation, only the front body thermal sensation has more impact on the whole thermal sensation than the back body. The paper presents correlation formulas for the relationship between thermal sensations of the front, back and whole body according to experimental results.
