Abstract: Carbon dioxide Capture and Sequestration (CCS) is a major method to decrease the emissions from centralized large industrial plants. Multi-period planning and design of CCS is still a challenging problem. In this work, a superstructure-based mathematical model for the design and planning of multi-period CO2 transport pipeline network is presented. The mapping between incidence matrix and pipeline structure is employed and the model is formulated within a mixed integer nonlinear optimization framework where the objective function is to maximize the profit of CCS while satisfying mass, pressure drop and logic constraints. A real life example is studied to demonstrate the advantages of our proposed approach.
