- Abstract:To settle the dam toe line in the traditional drawing methods was complex, time-consuming and inaccurate. A numerical method of dam toe line and automatic visualized drawing are presented through digitizing topographic map, building mathematical model of both dam slope and ground and adopting VC + + programme. Compared with the existing drawing method, it possesses many advantages, such as its convenience for computer to settle with high speed and accuracy, and it can consult intersection points on the random drawing dam toe line at any time. And it can solve many intersecting lines of the project buildings and offer a simple and feasible method for organizing the dam construction design and laying-out, even increase the actual project proficiency.
