Abstract:The graduate academic ability in the basic and advanced dimensions is composed of criticism and innovation, academic skills and integrating ability, sensitivity and problem-based awareness, professional reading and explanation, academic learning and perspective shift. The five components, together with motivation and academic self-perception, work on the development of graduate academic ability in departments of humanities. This paper attaches great importance to classics reading, divergent thinking training, thesis writing, academic motivation and academic self-perception that are vital to cultivating graduate academic ability in humanities.
