Abstract:Truss arm is the main bearing component of the crane, and its stability is an important factor in design. The paper takes truss arm of 280 t crawler crane as research object, and conducts nonlinear stability calculation using Ansys software based on arc length method theory. Equivalent length ratio of boom is changed by changing its width, height, outer diameter of main chord and wall thickness respectively, obtaining whole process load-displacement curve at different slenderness ratios. More accurate critical buckling load is gotten by analyzing the load-displacement curve, and influence of slenderness ratio on critical buckling load and flexibility of the boom is discussed for further guiding engineering design.
