Multi-criteria evaluation method for fuzzy interval measure and weights determination

Abstract:Fuzzy clustering is an effective method for multi-criteria decision making (MCDM). In this paper, an approach for utilizing fuzzy cluster with interval criteria data is presented. The relative difference function is formulated based on the membership degree difference between the optimal and non-optimal alternatives. The relative membership degree is analyzed by the relative difference function with the difference in observations and the standard interval criteria. A vital ideal alternative is conducted according to the characteristics and requirements of the criteria. With the idea of relative comparison, an extended data envelopment analysis (DEA) is employed to generate a common set of weights. This approach is verified on a real case in evaluating the water resource vulnerability. Comparison of the results with fuzzy comprehensive evaluation and grey system verifies the validity of this approach in dealing with MCDM. ? 2014 ISSN 1881-803X.
