Abstract: New media technology (NMT) has been widely accepted by college students, which incur tremendous impact on the growth and development of college students. Ideological and political education (IPE) should take advantage of the development opportunities and take measures to cope with the challenges caused by new media technologies, such as establishing the students' principal position in the education process, integrating the advantage of the traditional medium of IPE and the NMT, paying more attention to the guiding roles of opinion leader to peers, organizing various campus activities in the virtual world.
