Abstract: Smart materials have great application in active vibration control of flexible structures because of their low-quality, broadband, adaptability, etc. Based on the theory of first-order shear deformation, coupling the electrical and mechanical effects, a 4-node quadrilateral piezoelectric laminated element with 24 degrees of freedom for generalized displacements and one electrical potential degree of freedom for each piezoelectric element layer are derived, and the dynamic characteristics of a laminated beam are presented. A linear quadratic regulator (LQR) feedback controller is designed to suppress the vibration of a piezoelectric laminated beam in state space using the high precise direct (HPD) integration method.
