Abstract: Based on the theory of modal analysis, this paper summarizes the modal identiifcation methods under ambient excitation, and discusses fundamental concepts and the advantages and disadvantages of these methods. It especially introduces the modal parameter identiifcation of ship structure under the ship sailing condition and hot issues about its domestic researches, which provide beneifcial references for the relevant researchers.
