Preparation technics and the PL properties of Er(AA)3Phen-doped TiO2/PMMA prepared by sol-gel method

摘要:Methacrylic acid (AA) was used as chelating agent to modify the precursor titanium (IV) n-butoxide [Ti(OBu)4], then the obtained precursor was polymerized with the complex of erbium[Er(AA)3 Phen] and methyl methacrylate (MMA) to prepare the Er(AA)3AcAcPhen-doped TiO2/PMMA hybrid materials using sol-gel method. The TG-DTA results indicated that the PMMA begins to decompose at 70  C, while the TiO2/PMMA hybrid material with 1 mol% Er(AA)3 Phen doped begins to decompose at 170  C, i.e., the starting decomposition temperature of the latter is 100  C higher than that of the former. The FT-IR spectra showed that Er(AA)3 Phen combines with the hybrid material by chemical bond. The XRD analysis showed that the phase structure of the hybrid material is non-crystalline. When pumped at 980?nm, the 0.5 mol%~3.0 mol%Er(AA)3AcAcPhen-doped TiO2/PMMA hybrid materials exhibits unsplitted PL spectra centered at about 1.53   m and the strongest PL peak intensity is obtained when the doping concentration of Er(AA)3AcAcPhen is 1.0 mol%. When sintered at 700  C for an hour, the PL intensity of 1.0 mol% Er3+-doped TiO2 powders is 23 times higher than that of the powders without hybridization.
