Abstract:This paper presents a general numerical model facilitating to the
sensitivity analysis for solving the inverse couple stress problem. A FE
based numerical model is developed to formulate direct problem, and
direct and adjoint methods are used to conduct on the sensitivity
analysis. Gauss-Newton technique is employed to identify unknown
constitutive parameters with the consideration of material
inhomogeneity. The effects of initial guess, number of sample points and
data noise on the solutions are investigated, and satisfactory results
are exhibited in the numerical verification.
