Abstract: A new scheme of time stepping for solvin g the dynamic viscoelastic problems are presented. By expanding variables at a d iscretised time interval, FEM based recurrent formulae are derived. A self-adapt i ve algorithm for different sizes of time steps can be carried out to improve com puting accuracy. Numerical validation shows satisfactory performance.
