Abstract:A stable superhydrophobic mesh is prepared by coating zeolite on stainless steel mesh and then modifying it with fluorosilane, and its fog water collection performance is investigated. Results show that the maximum contact angle of water droplets on modified the mess is 155° when the hydrothermal reaction holds 24 hours, achieving a superhydrophobic effect. The prepared mess has a low adhesion against water droplet. Compared to untreated stainless steel mesh, its fog water collection speed is increased by up to 93%. In addition, the prepared superhydrophobic mesh exhibits a good stability. After the mesh has been respectively immersed in 1 mol·L~(-1) HCl,1 mol·L~(-1) NaOH and 3.5% NaCl solution for 48 h, it still shows good hydrophobic and fog water collection effects. After it has been abrased for 60 cycles on a 2 000 mesh sandpaper, its water contact angle can still reach 145°, and its fog water collection efficiency is still good.
