Abstract: Based on the half-through tied arch bridge, Deng-jia-yao Bridge in Beijing, a three-dimensional finite element model (FEM) including construction stages is established. The measured values are in good agreement with the finite element results of the final suspender force and bridge elevation. This article summarizes two technical difficulties: the erection elevation of the transverse beams and the effect of temperature on the suspender tension force during construction. The focus is on the precise installation gaps between transverse beams and steel pads. The results show that the reactions of the temporary steel pipe piles are sensitive to the installation gaps. Analysis of the suspender force during the first tensioning of suspenders indicates that the final suspender force cannot be reached if the effect of temperature on the suspender force is ignored.
