Abstract:The PLGA coatings on coronary stent surface were prepared using electrospray deposition (ESD) method. The morphologies of the deposited coatings were observed in term of OLYMPUS microscopy and atomic force microscopy (AFM). To evaluate the binding force between coating and stent, the stent was expanded by balloon. Additionally, blood platelet adhesion and dynamic clotting time tests were carried out to evaluate the blood compatibility. These results indicate that the surface roughness of PLGA coating and 316L stainless steel are Ra=16.174 nm, Ra=0.149 nm respectively. There are no avulsion and cock when the coatings stent were expanded. On the PLGA coatings, blood platelet adhesion is few, no distortion and activation. The dynamic clotting time is prolonged until 50 min. The blood compatibility of the PLGA coatings is excellent.
