Abstract:Signcryption is a technique which implements message encryption and digital signature in a logical single step, at lower computational costs and communication overheads than the traditional signature then-encryption approach. After delivering secure identity authentication or session negotiation message between communication entities by using the signcryption technology, how to generate a secure session key for the subsequent communications is one of the major aims of computer and communication security research. In order to achieve above aim, we first show that current schemes need high computation overheads and provide low security level, and then a new cryptographic primitive termed as signcryption and key agreement protocol is proposed, which has the message confidentiality, integrity, unforgeability and authentication, and can obtain a secure session key for subsequent communications. Additionally, we present a concrete scheme based on bilinear pairings and prove its security. Compared with the current schemes, our scheme enjoys shorter message length, less operation cost and higher security level. Copyright ? 2010 Binary Information Press.
