Abstract:Eco-industrial networks (EINs), a new organizational pattern to regional sustainable development, involve various benefit factors and the successful implementation of eco-industrial networks depends on effective management of the key benefit factors. This paper reviews the literature to identify essential benefit variables associated with the two aspects from both functional and structural benefits. Based on these benefit variables, a survey is conducted to isolate and assess the critical benefit factors for eco-industrial networks in china. Responses obtained within the samples in the industrial zones in Dongbei district are evaluated using principal component analysis to understand the latent structure of the critical benefit factors. The variables within the factors are tested to confirm the reliability and validity of the constructs. Finally, four critical factors with 12 items are extracted after six iterations. Critical benefit factors obtained through the factor analysis are assessed to gain better understanding of their importance and impact on performance management to eco-industrial networks.
