Abstract:From the new perspective of embedding industry chain, the research probes the effective mechanisms of firm growth in China. The growth of Yingli Group in solar photovoltaic industry is comprehensively described. By analyzing this case, the paper suggests that intermediate embedding industry chain is critical to the success of firm growth. Meanwhile, the key path and the mechanism of firm growth in this intermediate embedding are analyzed, and accordingly the firm growth model based on the intermediate embedding industry chain is constructed. The studies indicate that, on the premise that the accumulation of industrial capital and technology is relatively backward, intermediate embedding industry chain is an effective approach for Chinese firms to break through the control of multinational companies, and develop to be the dominant enterprises of industry chain.
