Abstract:In this paper the premixed methane-air explosion in a closed vessel was simulated through premixed combustion model. The model is based on the LES method to turbulence and the gradient method to burning rate. A structured hexahedron grid is used for numerical simulation. To decrease the CPU time the solution-adaptive mesh refinement is used. The simulated pressure history is in agreement with experimental data from the literature. The simulated result show that peak flame velocity occurs at fix position and peak flame velocity with end ignition is 50% faster than peak flame velocity with central ignition.
