Abstract:Abrasive particle flow processing technology was applied to complete the numerical simulation of inner surface polishing processes of multi-angle elbows. Effects of inlet flow velocity and abrasive concentration on abrasive particle flow polishing processes were studied by FLUENT software under different bending angles. Effect laws of inlet flow velocity and abrasive concentration on local pressure differences of bent pipe, inlet and outlet pressure differences, and turbulence intensity were obtained. The overall effects of the pressure and velocity were analyzed. Then the suitable working conditions of the inner surfaces of abrasive particle flow polishing pipes were obtained. Based on this, an unsteady numerical simulation of heat accumulation was carried out during abrasive flow polishing processes. Simulation results show that the temperature changes are small during the processes. These results provide a reference for actual abrasive flow processes. © 2021, China Mechanical Engineering Magazine Office. All right reserved.
