Abstract:The flow rule and coal particles movement characteristics of cold jet and gas-solid two phase flow in rotary kiln were analyzed by using a numerical method. The effect of each duct air supply parameter of four-channel burner on the strength of mixed size, backflow and whirl was investigated, and the numerical method was verified via a single-phase cold model. The discrete phase particle track model was added to the single-phase cold model to analyze the gas movement characteristics and particle distributions when a pulverized coal was injected into the gas phase turbulent flow field. The results show that the center air duct has an effect on the formation of central backflow. It was indicated that a jet with speed difference produced from both the internal rotational wind and direct wind could promote the entrainment and backflow of the high temperature secondary air and profited pulverized coal combustion under gravity. The coarser the coal particle size, the greater the pulverized coal deposited at the bottom of the kiln could be. The distribution was more uniform at the particle size of 30μm.
