Abstract:A two-dimensional cellular automaton model was developed to simulate dynamic recrystallization process of polycrystalline metals. The model considered the effects of dynamic recovery, dislocation density and nucleation rate on dynamic recrystallization. The variation of dislocation density, grain shape, orientation and mean size of recrystallization grain can be calculated during the whole deformation process by this model. The simulated results agree well with growth kinetics of dynamic recrystallization and validate the conclusion that the mean size of R-grain is independent of initial grain size and distribution.
