Abstract:The in-cylinder gas and combustion chamber parts of diesel engine, which include cylinder head, piston group, and cylinder liner, were treated as a coupling. Based on the heat transfer numerical simulation, the wall boundary condition of in-cylinder flow computation was obtained. After the simulation of intake air compression process, the three-dimensional transient flow numerical simulation of 6110 diesel engine was performed with CFD software STAR-CD and ES-ICE. The influence of fuel injection, atomization and combustion on in-cylinder flow was analyzed specially. From the results, it can be seen that the type of in-cylinder flow field is directly influenced by fuel injection during the process of combustion, and the large scale in-cylinder swirl flow is completely broken in certain space.
