Abstract:A cylinder head of blower cooled diesel engine has a higher thermal load than a water cooled one. This seriously prevents the diesel engine power's further improvement. Heat insulation can reduce the thermal load effectively. In order to select and optimum heat insulation scheme, the exhaust port of BF8L513F blower cooled diesel engine was insulated with ceramic coat and air-gap respectively. And the thermal load for these cylinder heads was researched. With ANSYS program, the following aspects for the original cylinder heads and two kinds of heat insulated modes were calculated: the temperature field, the heat flux field, the thermal stress field and the thermal strain field, etc.. And the integral temperature fields of the cylinder heads were measured. The investigation results show that the heat insulated exhaust port can reduce the thermal load of the cylinder head effectively, and the air-gap effect is much better than that of the ceramic coat's.
