Numerical simulation into influence of structural parameters on lubrication and friction performance of piston ring-liner

摘要:A three-dimensional transient heat mixed lubrication and friction model of piston ring liner was developed by coupling three-dimensional transient heat conduction model, dynamic lubricant model and heat transfer model of lubrication film, and considering effect factors of alteration of lube oil viscosity temperature, oil film fracture position and axis-asymmetry of piston ring tension in the circumferential direction of liner. Comparative analysis on influence of structural parameters on lubrication performance of piston ring liner including solid components temperature field, axial height and tubbish height of piston ring were made using the model. Results show that film thickness gets its minimum value and friction force gets its maximum value under the crank angle of 365.3  CA. Minimum film thickness reduces by 31.7% using the temperature of piston ring and liner under bottom dead center of charging and top dead center of combustion. Minimum film thickness increases by 74.5% and maximum friction force decreases by 45.7% when axial height of piston ring increases from 2.00, mm to 4.00, mm. Minimum film thickness decreases by 46.5% and maximum friction force increases by 57.1% when tubbish height of piston ring increases from 2.5,   m to 5.0,   m.
