Abstract:Based on the stochastic frontier analysis (SFA) method, this paper takes the input and output data of colleges and universities from 2005 to 2015 as a sample, measures and analyzes the innovation efficiency of academic and economic output in universities, and at the same time summarizes the factors influencing the efficiency of science and technology innovation in universities. The main conclusions of the empirical research are: (1) The efficiency level of science and technology innovation in Chinese universities is low, both the academic and economical are less than 0.5; (2) The human input in scientific and technological innovation activities has a greater impact on the output of scientific and technological achievements than the financial input. (3) The transformation rate of some colleges and universities' scientific and technological innovation achievements is relatively low, and it is imperative to strengthen their transformation capabilities so as to improve their technological innovation levels; (4) Strengthening the scientific and technological cooperation, exchanges, and cooperation in colleges and universities can significantly improve college science and technology innovation.
