Abstract:A copper/silver-catalyzed decarboxylative trifluoromethylation of alpha,beta-unsaturated carboxylic acids with CF3SO2Na was performed under relatively mild conditions. The reaction shows high E/Z selectivity and wide substrate tolerance. Ag2CO3 plays an important role in promoting the decarboxylation process.
