Abstract:In this paper, the problem of nonlinear water waves, which are driven by motional plates in shallow two-layer fluid, is discussed in the Hamiltonian system. In the system, dual equations are derived recurring to the canonical relationship between the velocity potential functions and the wave elevations. Farther, diversified orders of Hamiltonian approximations are shown. The solutions of travelling waves are obtained and the relationship between motions of plates and the system of wave source is found. Results show that the amplitude and frequency of plates moving impact directly the water waves, the wave source affects the area round the source and water waves approach travelling waves away. Numerical examples reveal some phenomena and rules of water waves.
