Abstract:A research method for Chinese word-word network was developed within the framework of complex network theory to better understand topological structure and formation characteristics of language networks, and several typical statistical properties of the network were analyzed. The empirical results show that Chinese word-word language network has the similar topological attributes, such as scale-free behavior, small-world effect and assortative mixing comparing with other previously studied language networks. The empirical research and the mechanism explanation to the statistic results may have reference value to language science and cognitive science developing.
