Abstract:It is very important to determine earth pressure acted on excavation face in shield tunneling for evaluating earth pressure in the head chamber of shield and controlling ground surface deformation in shield tunneling. Based on the elastic mechanics and soil mechanics principles, the computing models for determining earth pressure are proposed to simulate earth pressure acted on excavation face in shield tunneling. The similar and different points of three models are discussed by combining some practical engineering case. The investigation results show that the solution of the superposition principle is larger about 50% than the solutions of both elastic mechanics and soil mechanics principles.
