Abstract: Cubic ZnTiO3 nanopowders were synthesized by molten salt method, using Zn(NO3)(2) center dot 6H2O, titanium dioxide (TiO2) and the eutectic salt (KCl-LiCl) as starting materials. Several factors, including temperature, ratio of Ti/Zn, eutectic salt, and Zn sources, which affect the formation of cubic ZnTiO3, were investigated. The results indicate that cubic ZnTiO3 can be prepared between 600 degrees C and 800 degrees C. Appropriate calcination temperature and molar ratio of Ti/Zn = 1.0 are favorable for preparation of cubic ZnTiO3. Zn sources have significant influence on the final crystal phases of samples without using eutectic salt, and eutectic salt can inhibit cubic ZnTiO3 transforming into hexagonal ZnTiO3 at a high temperature.
