Abstract:A 2*4 array piezoelectric keyboard using the PVDF film was designed based on the research of response characteristic and working mode of the PVDF film. The structure of keyboard was comprised of a PCB base with molded recesses, single PVDF film and an electrode layer. Comparators were added to detect the status of pushbuttons. Experiments on the customized keyboard was carried out, and the adjacent key interference as well as the interference between key-area and non-key-area were discussed. The results proved the capability of the PVDF keyboard with high sensitivity and fast response, which could detect press signal accurately. The designed array PVDF film keyboard is characterized with simple and light, and with good prospect of application.
