Abstract:A procedure based on FEM is proposed to simulate interaction between concrete segments of tunnel linings and soils. The basic physical and mechanical parameters of soils excavated by shield were determined by experimental tests in field. The equivalent average gap model between soil and concrete segment is proposed in order to simulate unloading effect of soil pressure. The distributions of bending moment, axial force and shear force on segments were computed by FEM. Influences of ground loss ratios on internal force characteristics on segments of tunnel linings were analyzed. Based on measurement data of ground surface settlements in field, the ground loss ratio is determined. The predicted surface settlements with FEM are in good agreement with field observations. ? 2015 ejge.
