Abstract:LiV3O8 nanosheets were successfully synthesized by a facile hydrothermal approach and subsequent calcination for the first time. The samples were characterized by XRD, FT-IR, SEM and TEM. The results showed that the phase pure LiV3O8 nanosheets with layered structures were formed. Furthermore, the electrochemical properties of LiV3O8 nanosheets were investigated by cyclic voltammetry (CV) and galvanostatic charge-discharge (GCD). The results showed that LiV3O8 nanosheets performed a high initial specific capacitance of 288 F g(-1), and the specific capacitance after 10, 40,100 cycles was 218, 131, 98 F g(-1), respectively. The good electrochemical properties made them a promising candidate as a cathode material for supercapacitors. (C) 2016 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
