Abstract: Sinology stands in contrast to Western Learning and New Learning .The tradition of sinology is com-plicated due to the complexity of the tradition itself .Sinology tradition can be analyzed from the following five lev-els, i.e.knowledge level , academic level , the level of moral values and life pursuit , ultimate concern level and national spirit level .Methodologies to study and analyze Sinology vary a great deal , including the Marxist approach of practical hermeneutics , the method of critical inheritance , and contradictory analysis approach .To transform the creativity of Sinology tradition is to strongly advocate and carry forward the "Cultural Synthetic Innovation"research program , on the one hand , criticizing the tradition with modernization theory , on the other hand , criticizing moder-nity with traditional and postmodern theory , and developing contemporary advanced culture in China with Chinese characteristics, Chinese majesty , Chinese style and Chinese modernity .
