Abstract: We study two coupled cavities, each of which contains two two-level atoms. We identify the regions of Mott-insulator and superfluid states. Ground-state entanglement of two atoms in one cavity has been investigated. The result show that quantum entanglement of two atoms within one cavity can also characterize quantum phase transition.
